Mikonkatu in the Galleria Esplanade mallMarimekko’s brand is world known. The story goes back to 1950’s when Armi Ratia’s husband had a fabric printing factory called Printex. Armi wanted to make bold and distinctive fabrics and collaborated with young designers.

The success story began only after launching the very first Marimekko clothing collection. Visit this flagship store to feel the genuine Marimekko ambience and to learn more about the brand.

Savoy restaurant

Perhaps one of the most iconic Finnish design is the Savoy Vase made by Aino and Alvar Aalto. The world known vase was custom made for Savoy and first seen in public in 1937 when the restaurant opened its doors to customers. We suggest you go to Savoy for a lunch, admire the spectacular design and enjoy the panoramic view over Helsinki.
